Being a Hollywood celebrity does have its pitfalls, all right. Anything amiss in your otherwise perfect personality and image, and you will spark off some oddest rumors. All the leading ladies of Hollywood, who have been at the receiving end of imaginary baby bumps would know it well. Recently, the grapevine was buzzing with rumors of Scarlett Johansson???s pregnancy. Photographed while trotting with Owen Wilson and her man of the moment Sean Penn, she flaunted a little belly instead of a toned tummy. In no time, online forums swung into action and spread the word that a stork may come visiting Johansson soon.
And as it happens in most cases, this rumor has met with denial. PEOPLE has quoted her representative Marcel Pariseau saying,
She’s outside running and it’s simply the placement of her shirt that is misleading. She was followed and photographed for over 20 minutes and I’m sure there are other photos in the series that show and prove that she is not pregnant.
So, Scarlett Johansson???s representative did what all the dutiful ones do for their celebrities. When a rumor starts off, the representative comes out of his hiding, cleans the air and the rumor bites the dust. The celebrity, of course, mostly stays unavailable for comments and waits for the hullabaloo to settle. But some times rumors spread like wild fire and babies are born to many celebrities.
