The BJP internal panel, that is looking for the cause of the party defeat in Lok Sabha bypoll, has find out the real cause (?) of the party defeat in Thiruvananthapuram nine months ago. The BJP candidate and its former state president CK Padmanabhan had polled just 37,000 votes and he lost the election.

Some party members have pocketed a major part of that amount. The report also reveals that that amount of money is currently being used for anti-party activities.

According to the Indian express, the probe report revealed that there was even a fixed bribe to allot petrol pumps during the NDA rule.

The former president of state BJP unit, K Raman Pillai, says in the report that there was a collection of about Rs 18 crore but accounts of two crores have been endowed only. P P Mukundan (RSS nominee and BJP organising secretary for Kerala and Tamil Nadu) and Prof Narayanan Nair (BJP state treasurer) carried out these collections.

BK Sekhar, spokesperson of the state unit of BJP says that money has been lavishly spent among party workers to carry out anti-party activities within the state.

A high profile state BJP leader has told The Indian Express that the state unit was ‘allowed by the central leadership to accept donations in return for allotting petrol pumps‘.
