The RJD leader and Siwan MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin could escape from Siwan jail. The intelligence agency has warned the state government and the district officials in this matter.

After the warning, the Siwan Police has tightened the security in the district jail. The officials are planning to install a close circuit TV in the cell of Shahabuddin.

Earlier, Shahabuddin was taken back to Siwan jail in November last year after a successful surgery in AIIMS.

Siwan Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar said;

police have tightened the security measures in Siwan jail. We are now going to install a close circuit TV in the cell of Shahabuddin.

We got a report from a special branch SP that he could try to escape from the jail in future.

He further said that the Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) personnel have been deployed to keep a close watch on the jail.

On the other hand, the RJD has criticized the intelligence report. RJD leader Shayam Rajak said;

This move is nothing but to mentally torture Sahabuddin. He is a law abiding MP and he always respected the court.

In June last year, the state government had established a special fast-court court in Siwan jail to trial the cases pending against Shahabuddin as soon as possible.

Shahabuddin, am MP from Siwan since 1996, is facing charges in more than 40 criminal cases such as murder, abduction and possession of illegal arms and stolen vehicles.
