The pedigree that Soha Ali Khan has, invariably raises our expectations from her. With her remarkable performance in ‘Rang De Basanti’, she has proved that she is no pampered star kid but that she knows her job well.
Soha, not the shy newcomer any more, considers playing with favorites boring. According to her experience is always enriching and makes one grow up. Soha says:
I have grown up pretty nicely too. Career wise too I am happy. It’s after a long wait that I have finally been able to work with a female director in ‘Chauraha’. And I have had a great time.
This diffident actor has finally broken the taboo of being a star kid and has come a long way from just being known as Saif Ali Khan’s sister or Sharmila Tagore’s daughter. However, she still remains the lovely kid to her family. Soha remarks:
Well, mom still worries about me, and keeps SMS-ing me when I am out on location shoots. She’s still very protective about me. Saif is still doing the elder brother bit, and dad’s attitude towards me hasn’t changed either.
Soha seems to be enjoying all the attention towards her, as she believes that a family is supposed to be like that – caring and sharing. Talking of Saif, she thinks that he is an enormously talented and hardworking actor and that he deserves all the fame he has achieved.
With her plate full of work, Soha also looks forward to work with her family, provided the script is good and has a ‘right royal reason why the three should be in it together.’ However, for the audience, the casting would be a delight, anytime!
