The Hurt Locker scores big at Oscars

The Hurt Locker emerged the big winner at Sunday’s 82nd annual Academy Awards ceremony and secured six Oscars including best picture and best director for Kathryn Bigelow, earning her the honor for being the first ever woman to achieve this at the Oscars. The other awards that the film secured are: original screenplay, film editing, sound editing and sound mixing. The much-touted and awards favorite “Avatar” was barely able to live up to the competition with just three trophies.
