Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 30, was seen drinking an extra strong cider in the street at 10 am yesterday in North London, hours after the death of his mother. Jonathan plays Henry VIII in the BBC2 drama The Tudors. Rhys Meyers was arrested on Sunday in Dublin when he became aggressive on the airport staff that had stopped him to board a plane because he was drunk. While he was waiting for the flight, he fell off his seat and lied asleep on the floor and when finally he was in his sense he used abuse language as he was stopped to board. For this Jonathan was arrested and charged of being drunk and misbehaving. This year it was twice that he was being treated for alcohol problems.jonathan with mother

Geri Meyers O’Keeffe, Jonathan’s mother, was in poor health and died soon after she was admitted to the Mercy Hospital. She has three more sons and the cause of her death is not known till now. The Riverstown Inn had thrown a surprise Birthday party on her 50th birthday last January. The people who knew her were shocked by her sudden death and said it was unbelievable. She was a lovely woman, they said. She was also very proud of Jonathan.

Jonathan’s Los Angeles based publicist, Meridith O’Sullivan, confirmed last night that his mother is no more but had no other details to reveal.
