UAE must cooperate with India, a new emerging power center: Sheikh Mohammed

There is a great scope for UAE to become India’s number one trading partner and the country may become as the gateway to the region for Indian exports. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said this on his two-day state visit to India.

Sheikh Mohammed, on the last day of his official visit, assured India to make the UAE India’s top trade partner soon. He called private sector of both India and UAE to take advantage of various investment openings that are being offered by both countries.

During his visit, India and UAE signed deals and agreements worth of more than $20 billion. Most of the agreements would be in the real estate sector.

Among the other deals, the biggest deal of almost $20 billion has been signed between Dubai’s real estate giant Nakheel and developers DLF in India equal joint venture. Both real estate developers would jointly work to build two townships in India.

In another deal of $1 billion that happened between Dubai World and India’s Hinduja Group to set up a chain of hospitals in India.

Sheikh Mohammed said after reaching on bilateral agreements with India: We know power centers in the world are shifting its base and the UAE must be prepared to cooperate with the new emerging power centers including India.
