Country singer Wynonna Judd has ultimately decided to end her already broken relationship with estranged husband Dan R. Roach. She filed for a divorce following an arrest of Roach on charges of sexual battery involving a child under 13.
Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron informed that Dan. R. Roach was arrested as a fugitive in Abilene, Texas, after he was indicted by a Nashville grand jury last week. Aaron further said that the sexual battery charges wre defined as inappropriate touching and fondling but no penetration. Aaron said:
The indictment is the result of an investigation by the (local police department’s) sex crimes unit that began in late February of this year. Roach will be returned to Nashville in the next few days.
42-year-old Wynonna is Ashley Judd‘s half-sister. She started her career as one half of the judds, teaming with her mother Naomi Judd and then she went solo. She has a successful career which include twenty No.1 singles, a Grammy award and a performance at Super Bowl XXVIII in 1994.
Dan Roach, 49, was Wynonna’s bodyguard and road manager for 13 years, when the couple decided to get married in 2003. Wynonna often described her husband as a ‘very spiritual man’.
The divorce complaint was filed by her attorney Rose Palermo in Franklin, Tennessee, a Nashville suburb and only stated that the couple ‘are unable to live together successfully as husband and wife.’
This incidence has visibly taken its toll on the singer. She admits this on her official website as she said:
I am obviously devastated. Our family will pull together, begin the healing process and hopefully, by the grace of God, become stronger. We will move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution to this difficult situation.
