Kate Moss has been named Britain’s Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in the gala event at Victoria and Albert museum. The 32year-model Moss made a huge comeback by appearing frequently in fashion magazines despite a trail of drug scandal.
Kate Moss was allegedly photographed taking cocaine with her boyfriend Pete Doherty. After the pictures were published by a Daily Mirror newspaper, Moss made a public apology but no criminal charges were made against her. Due to the controversies, she lost many modeling contracts.
She was rigorously criticized by the Colombian Vice president for being instrumental in fuelling country’s cocaine wars.
Colombian Vice President Francisco Santos said:
To me, it’s baffling that somebody who helps cause so much pain in Colombia is doing better than ever and winning more contracts than ever.
The British Fashion Council refused to comment on the potential controversy of Moss’s nomination.Breyn Ferry, singer and one of a host of celebrities, presented Miss Moss her award.
