DTC to distribute ‘new’ route map free of cost

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has planned to publish the route map of all its 150 major bus routes along with the route maps of Metro stations and the proposed ring railway network.

DTC has planned to introduce the route map on the basis of the London version of the route map. The corporation has published more than 10,000 copies in English and Hindi. The copies will be distributed to the DTC travelers for of cost.

The route maps will be available at the ISBTs, DTC terminuses, major bookstores, tourist spots and hotels and people may find the booklet detail from the DTC website www.dtc.nic.in too.

In this map, there is a list of 200 bus stops among over 6,000 bus stops in the city. The map has the detail of about 150 bus routes of the 600 actual bus routes. It has even the separate smaller maps for the Mudrika and the Teevra Mudrika bus routes.

According to a senior DTC official, Bus routes of the whole city are covered in this map. The corporation has tried to make it easy for the newcomers in the city for a clear idea about all the bus routes in the city. He said further that the map would be useful for Delhiites too.

The corporation official said that the map has the grids from A to H and there are seven zones in each grid. In all the division, all 200 bus stops are pointed out in four different colors such as blue, green, pink and mauve. The corporation has ordered for 500 low-floor buses and there are plans to add another differently colored route outline for them. The map will be upgraded and reprinted in every three to four years.
