Heavy snowfall in the high altitude areas and widespread rains in the mid and lower areas of Himachal Pradesh has almost halted the life particularly in the remote parts of the state.
The road transport in the state has severely effected as around 150 buses of State Road Transport Corporation have been stranded at the interiors of Shimla, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts. Tourists are caught at the various parts of state.
Rescue team has rushed to the chail kufri highway where more than 80 tourists were caught in a resort since Monday.
Tarun Kapoor, Deputy Commissioner of Shimla said:
Tourist stuck in resort Tushali and Shillon beyond Kufri on Kufri Chail road. Administration in touch with the hotel manager but its facing problem due to heavy snow and the road is also blocked. However, administration is sending more rescue mission.
However, this heavy spell of snowfall, after a gap of over a month, has ended the long drought in the state, bringing cheer to apple growers, as well as the tourism industry.
