The United States is going to host the first-ever Indian mango festival most likely in the month of June. This is a new attempt for showcasing India as a growing business and investment destination.

The US-India Business Council, that is a platform of 250-companies, would herald the first batch of Indian mangoes to US markets in this years’ summer. For the smooth entry of Indian mangoes in US market, council actually decided to organize the first-ever mango festival in US.

According to Council president Ron Somers, the mango festival would be considered as a part of USIBC’s Global India Summit that is scheduled to be held in Washington on June 27.

Somers said further that there is a better commercial as well as symbolic significance of the possibility of mango export to the US market. Indian mangoes would get an easy access to the global marketplace after this festival. In return, Indian farmers and consumers would be benefited from the growing demands of Indian mangoes in global markets.

Indian fruits are now getting greater access to US markets and the mango festival would be proved as the tastiest face of bilateral trade between the Us and India.

Earlier, the decision had been taken in principle when US president George Bush had visited India. The US administration took almost one year to implement the decision through its departments of commerce and agriculture.

The decision to import the Indian mangoes was actually initiated by many US officials who had spent some times in India in their careers. They never missed the taste of Indian mangoes.

According to the report, the mango exports to the US would work as great boost for the better agricultural and diplomatic advantage for India. The other high value markets have started allowing the entry of Indian mangoes. After US, Japan has also allowed Indian farmers to sale mangoes in the country. Earlier, Indian mangoes had made a wholehearted entry into Chinese markets three years ago.
