Jodie Foster honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award

Jodie Foster
along with Meg Ryan and Jennifer Aniston was one of my all time favorite stars. She always appeared so classy and that to with great simplicity.

There was always something about her and Meg Ryan that made you fall in love with their roles. It was as if the eyes of Jodie Foster and more so Meg Ryan made you feel that love was indeed beautiful and that you needed to experience it too.

Did I get too mushy? Never mind. But this is not about Jodie’s movies, this is about her. Jodie Foster was given the Sherry Lashing Award for leadership among women who light up the screen. She was awarded for her leadership qualities shown off the screen, of course.

Jodie seemed pretty happy and overwhelmed by the whole thing. She talked about how she was a person who was used to spotlight and attention for last 42 years. (And she is only 45!)

She also spoke about how she always perceived herself as being professional and an absolute ‘gentleman’ (She said that, not me). She also spoke about how she always had a conflicting personality and would like to keep her true self to her own home. She proclaimed that it was actually the industry she worked in that made her ‘as nutty as a fruitcake.’

The night was made all the more bright with stars such as Queen Latifah and John Travolta, who accompanied Jodie to the function. It is indeed rewarding that someone is finally rewarded for being for so long in the business they love so much. It is a nice way to remind ourselves that these people do work that goes beyond the reel life and stretches into the real world.
