Indian Railway is having sleepless nights and putting others projects on hold for connecting the 20.9-km stretch between Hathua and Bathua Bazar. This railway link will come in the Hathua-Bhatni section of North Eastern Railway. This is not as important as any other railway link between any two places in India. It has some unique cause of importance.

While it will be completed, it will connect Phulwaria that happens to be the ancestral village of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav with Salar Kalan, the ancestral village of his wife and former CM of Bihar Rabri Devi. These two villages are just 20.9 km apart.

Indian railway is busy to establish the railway link between the two ‘important’ villages. After all, it is an old wish of Rabri Devi and she earlier had ‘requested’ Lalu ji to connect the villages.

There are three major and ten minor bridges on the 20.9-km stretch between Hathua and Bathua Bazar. It is estimated to cost around Rs 60 crore to connect these two villages. Rs 230 crore had granted to the 79.64-km Hathua-Bhatni link in this year’s railway budget.

Lalu Prasad, report says, wants to inaugurate the new line on Durga Pooja. According to the officials, the work on this section is going on a ‘war footing’ to complete the link on time.
