Lok Sabha, temple of criminals? 136 MPs in 14th LS have criminal background

India is producing best brains those are proving Indian skill everywhere in every field but we do see these brains nowhere if we talk about politics. Indian politics is not getting better human resource that India is producing on large scale and lacking good leadership.

Anyone can see that young Indian professionals are roaring high in almost every field except politics. The new India is being led by the Lok Sabha where nearly 25 per cent of MPs had criminal cases against them.

Is this the India of our dreams? This is shame for more than 1 billion Indian people that we have the leaders such as Babu Bhai Katara, Ajit Jogi, Natwar Singh, Shibu Soren, Arun Gawli, Pappu Yadav, Sadhu Yadav, Mohd Shahabuddin and so on. This is the time that Indian youth should come forward to take the leadership of the country in their hand to decide the fate of the nation with their intelligent brains.

According to the Citizen’s Report on Governance and Development – 2006, 136 Member of Parliament in the 14th Lok Sabha have criminal background. The report, prepared by the National Social Watch Coalition, reveals that about 25 per cent of Lok Sabha MPs have criminal cases against them.

The tainted politicians are ruling the people with great confidence because they know that the people of India have no option but to elect them again and again.

The report says on the Parliament’s derelictions and progressive decline in Parliamentary behaviour and functioning that the 14th Lok Sabha lost 26 per cent of its precious time in disruption rising on various political controversies. At the same time, the Rajya Sabha lost a total of 29 per cent of its time on same issues.

In India, the country of young generation, young MPs are frequent lawbreakers. According to the report, 30.4 per cent of MPs in 14th Lok Sabha, between the age of 36 and 45 years, are facing criminal cases in different parts of the country.

Among them, 18.3 per cent are facing serious charges. The Hindi-region states such as UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and MP have sent MPs to Lok Sabha who are facing serious criminal charges such as murder, rape, extortion and even attempts to commit suicide.
