The Father of nation Mahatma Gandhi‘s name is anytime the best seller in India. It is proving itself correct again with a new biographical sketch. This time Gandhi’s secrets have revealed by his own grandson, Rajmohan Gandhi. Rajmohan has wriiten another biography of Gandhi with the title Mohandas – A True Story of a Man, his People and an Empire.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi released the book in New Delhi. It is being said that before this book, perhaps no Indian has written on Gandhi so extensively. The newly written biography has revealed several aspects of his life, personality and beliefs.

Rajmohan Gandhi, in an interview with a news channel, said that Gandhi has timidities and cowardice nature in his early days but he turned himself as the person who gave fearlessness to millions and millions of people. This was the most astonishing thing about Gandhi.

In this new book, Rajmohan has written that Gandhi was incredibly frank and open about sex. It revealed his attachments with a woman called Sarla Devi Choudhary in 1919-1920.

Rajmohan said in the interview that in only 3-4 months in 1920, Gandhi, 50 and Sarla Devi, 47 had fallen for each other. However, most important thing was that there was no question of any sex in that relationship.

Later, his son Devdas, Secretary Mahadev Desai and others had told him to remember his commitment. They mounted pressure on him to end the affair with Sarla Devi.

Later, Gandhi ended that relationship. Gandhi absolutely and with finality ended that affair and definitely, there was no sex in that affair.

The most important part of the story is that Gandhi, himself, did not say anything about that affair in his own biography, My Experiment with Truth.

On this question, Rajmohan Gandhi said that Gandhi did not talk about Sarla Devi Choudhary was because he had already hurt her feelings. He could not possibly write about her in his autobiography, as Sarla Devi was still alive then.
