Fans of soccer superstar David Beckham have something more to cheer about. Their icon has been touted for a cameo in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming epic ‘Australia’. Reports have it that Nicole Kidman who is a part of the movie suggested David Beckham’s name as ideal to play a hunky builder.

Sources close to the U.K’s Daily Star said that,

Nicole let slip that she thought David would be perfect to play a laborer in the film, and Baz agrees. Apparently Baz thinks David would be great in Australia. He has all the perfect qualities for the role and is so humble, he would be brilliant. It’s only a small role, but everyone is hoping David will consider doing it.

‘Australia’ has been under production since nine months now and is expecting a theatrical release late next year.

The movie revolves around the bombing of Darwin in Australia during the World War II and centers on Kidman’s character Lady Sarah Ashley, an English aristocrat who is left in control of a cattle station in the country.

So fans of the superstar will have to hold their horses till any confirmation comes through by the studio. It is just at a consideration now, the iconic Beckham is yet silent. If the movie does manage to pull the cameo by the athlete, the studio can expect some huge attractions at the box office due to the guest appearance.
