The soap opera is into its next episode and this time, there are smiles all around. The high profile relationship between Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton was always going to be one that had several trials, tribulations and punctuation marks on its way but with the passage of time, it has become nothing short of a soap opera.

First the union, then the break up and now a reunion. It’s the stuff that fill up the gossip pages of the tabloids and in their almost four year relationship, Prince William and Kate Middleton have helped sell several such tabloids. And still they are feeding the paparazzi with their roller coaster ride. The tale of their break-up and reunion is getting publicized as the most happening story in Britain’s celebrity lifestyle at the moment and one can hardly escape the saga.

Both were 19 and brimming with ambitions when they met each other for the first time at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001. The panorama of Scotland and the serene atmosphere of one of the most respected universities in Britain provided the backdrop to these two young hearts. From around Christmas in 2003, the Prince and his Princess started to date each other; they were also university flat mates at the time. Love was in the air and the birds were singing.

And then the intrusion of the paparazzi. They hardly seem to leave any stone unturned and it was their trespassing of the relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton weaved the string of difficulties in their relationship. Intense media attention began to deprive William and Kate privacy and that, when added to William’s habit of partying hard regularly late into nights with his friends and sometimes in the company of exotic women, proved disastrous to the duo’s love affair.

Prince William and Kate Middleton split up in March, this year but if anyone thought that that was the end of the story, he couldn’t be more wrong. The story still had several chapters and one of those key ones came at a party in June at 17th Century mansion Upton Viva, thrown by Sam Waley-Cohen, son of racehorse breeder and trainer Robert Waley-Cohen. Ironically, it was again a party that helped reunite William and Kate.

It was this party that rekindled the love between William and Kate. Guests present at the party said that the duo involved themselves in intimate conversation and there were all signs that the love could bloom once again. And the bud did blossom in Desroches in Seychelles where William and Kate took a secret holiday with local police and military deployed to provide them the much needed privacy.

So William and Kate are back into each other’s arms but the question is: for how long? Prince William prepares to work for both the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and this means that they would be seeing each other far less that they did before. Kate is employed as an accessories buyer but there has been speculation that she is about to give her job to become a professional photographer. Both seem to get busy with their lives and doubt persists whether they will ultimately tie the knot.
